UAE Unveils Groundbreaking 8 Exaflop AI Supercomputer in India

India is preparing to enter a new era in technology with a project to create a supercomputer for artificial intelligence with processing power reaching 8 exaflops. This development represents a strategic step that enhances India’s ability to develop its digital infrastructure and leverage advanced artificial intelligence technologies. Through this project, the UAE is contributing to expanding computing capabilities in India, enabling researchers and innovators to achieve new milestones across various fields.

Strategic Partnership Enhancing Technical Capabilities

The system is being implemented by the globally renowned group “G42,” based in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with “Cerebras,” a company specializing in manufacturing the fastest AI inference systems in the world. This partnership also includes Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and the Indian Center for Advanced Computing Development (C-DAC). The project was announced during the “AI Impact Summit 2026” held in New Delhi, affirming the growing strategic relations between the UAE and India.

Significant Transformations in India’s Computing Infrastructure

With 8 exaflops technology, this supercomputer represents a qualitative leap in computing power, contributing to the enhancement of the AI infrastructure in India. The project focuses on developing AI infrastructure while ensuring data sovereignty, with all data remaining under national control. Maan Jain, the CEO of G42 in India, stated, “This project provides them with sovereign computing power, enabling them to transform into entities that rely on artificial intelligence.”

New Opportunities for Research and Local Initiatives

Once operational, the supercomputer will provide significant capabilities for various sectors in India, ranging from academic and research institutions to startups and medium-sized enterprises. The model aims to enhance equal opportunities in accessing advanced computing technologies, reducing barriers to innovation. Richard Morton, the Executive Director of the Foundational Models Institute at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, noted that this partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to advanced computing capabilities for the benefit of future generations.

Steps Towards the Future

This project embodies G42’s full commitment to supporting the development of national capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence. In December 2025, the group launched a large language model named “Nanda 87B,” which includes 87 billion parameters, reflecting the UAE’s ongoing ambition to support technological advancement on a global scale. The new supercomputer will enhance India’s ability to develop innovative and secure artificial intelligence systems, paving the way for a bright future that improves the daily lives of approximately 1.4 billion people.
