Abu Dhabi Expands Economic Partnerships with Singapore and India
In a move that reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to enhancing its international economic relations, the emirate is seeking to expand its economic partnerships with Singapore and India. During a scheduled visit from November 17 to 21, a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development will engage in a series of meetings with business leaders and government officials aimed at strengthening these partnerships. Attention is focused on the diverse opportunities offered by both Singapore and India, highlighting Abu Dhabi’s expansive vision to promote sustainable development.
Visit Supports Strategic Relations
Leading the delegation is Ahmed Jassem Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, who is accompanied by senior officials from both the public and private sectors. “Singapore and India are among the fastest-growing and most dynamic economies in the world,” Al Zaabi emphasized, pointing to the importance of deepening partnerships with these nations. The visit reflects Abu Dhabi’s ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation with policymakers, business leaders, and investors, aiming to develop new opportunities across various sectors, such as advanced technology and healthcare.
Focus on High-Potential Sectors
The program concentrates on several sectors, including artificial intelligence, financial technology, and renewable energy. These sectors represent significant growth opportunities and reflect the desire to transform Abu Dhabi into a global hub for innovation and technology. “We are doubling our efforts to enhance collaboration with local and international partners,” Al Zaabi added, demonstrating a strong commitment to developing long-term business relationships.
Diverse Investment and Business Opportunities
Figures indicate that the trade volume between the UAE and Singapore exceeds $18.5 billion, while non-oil trade with India surpassed $65 billion in 2024. These numbers serve as evidence of the effectiveness of economic partnerships, with cooperation agreements opening diverse investment avenues. Many Indian and Singaporean companies have established their headquarters in Abu Dhabi Global Market, reflecting the capital’s role as a platform for Asian companies seeking to enhance growth.
Supporting the Business Environment
Abu Dhabi’s achievements in attracting investments are supported by the favorable business environment the emirate provides, making it a preferred destination for global companies. For instance, companies like Seviora and RB Capital have established branches in Abu Dhabi, reinforcing the emirate’s status as an international financial center. The number of Indian companies registered with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry rose to 17,457 memberships by the end of September 2025, reflecting the ongoing growth in economic cooperation.
Through this visit, Abu Dhabi aims to strengthen its economic partnerships with Singapore and India, emphasizing its growing role as a global center for trade and investment. These efforts open new horizons for sustainable development and the enhancement of bilateral relations with leading economies in Asia.
