Among these projects is the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, considered the largest single-site solar power complex in the world. Its production capacity is expected to exceed 8,000 megawatts by 2030, contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions by 8.5 million tons annually.
Investment in Solar Energy
Details were also provided about the “Green Hydrogen” project, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, where hydrogen is produced using solar energy. Additionally, the “Green Charger” initiative for electric vehicles was highlighted, which offers smart and flexible charging services through more than 1,500 charging points spread across Dubai.
These projects and the efforts of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority in the field of sustainability reflect its aspirations for a greener future, as the authority continuously strives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The leading role played by the authority in this domain makes it a model to be emulated at both regional and international levels.
