Mohammed bin Rashid Knowledge Foundation Concludes Children’s Literature Workshop in Tunisia

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation has concluded its Children’s Literature Workshop, organized by the Dubai International Writing Program. The workshop, which spanned four months in the capital city of Tunisia, aimed to enhance creativity and innovation in children’s literature among participants. Under the supervision of Dr. Wafa Thabet Al-Mazghani, the workshop achieved notable success with exceptional participation from those interested in the arts of children’s literature.

Interactive and Innovative Training

Participants enjoyed a rich educational experience based on interactive methods and brainstorming sessions. The workshop facilitated the exchange of ideas and evaluations with a professional team, covering everything from developing creative concepts to producing children’s stories ready for publication. Jamal bin Huwaireb, the executive director of the foundation, emphasized that “the activities of the Dubai International Writing Program embody the foundation’s message of supporting Arab intellectual movement and encouraging creativity across various fields.”

Comprehensive Training Program

The Children’s Literature Workshop included four in-person training sessions, each lasting three days. The training addressed important topics such as the history of children’s literature, Arabic children’s literature, and various literary genres. Participants also explored the significance of planning before writing, character development, and plot construction, adding a practical dimension to their writing experience.

A Workshop for Youth

This workshop is the second held in Tunisia and the third in the Maghreb region. Bin Huwaireb noted that “the foundation will continue to work on initiatives aimed at enriching the literary and knowledge landscape both locally and globally.” Remote follow-up was included, allowing for manuscript reviews and self-editing supervision, which enhanced the quality of the outputs presented to Arab and international libraries.

The efforts of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation through this workshop reflect a commitment to nurturing young talents and supporting them in the field of children’s literature, showcasing the foundation’s dedication to enriching the literary landscape and advancing it towards new horizons.
