In a move that underscores the close link between leadership vision and higher education, the University’s Board of Trustees has praised the enduring support of Sharjah’s Ruler, noting that مجلس أمناء الجامعة القاسمية يثمّن دعم حاكم الشارقة reflects a long-term commitment to academic excellence, research, and community service. The board said this support continues to shape the university’s growth and strengthen its position as a distinguished institution rooted in knowledge, moderation, and cultural openness.

At the heart of this recognition is the broad backing provided by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, founder of Al Qasimia University. The board said his directives, initiatives, and annual budget approvals have become a guiding force in the university’s journey, reinforcing a strategic approach that invests in people, advances education and scientific research, and supports the university’s mission as a global academic landmark that combines quality teaching, research excellence, community engagement, and the promotion of tolerance and coexistence.
Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Jamal Salem Al Turaifi, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, expressed deep gratitude to the Ruler of Sharjah and said that مجلس أمناء الجامعة القاسمية يثمّن دعم حاكم الشارقة marks a significant turning point in the university’s path toward greater distinction and leadership. He noted that this backing will help accelerate the development of scientific research, modernize academic programs, and broaden the use of advanced technologies in teaching, research, and institutional operations.
He added that the university is also working to align its academic outputs with labor market needs, attract outstanding academic talent, and expand strategic partnerships with academic, government, and private institutions inside the UAE and abroad. These efforts, he said, will enhance the university’s competitiveness and strengthen its academic and research presence at both regional and international levels.
Al Turaifi explained that Al Qasimia University, which brings together students representing 139 nationalities from around the world, continues to implement its 2025–2030 strategic plan through its six colleges: Sharia and Islamic Studies, Arts and Humanities, Economics and Management, Communication, the Holy Quran, and the College of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. According to him, this diverse academic structure supports the university’s mission to prepare qualified graduates who possess knowledge, skills, and values within a multicultural environment that encourages dialogue and cross-cultural understanding.
He further said that the approved budget will contribute to improving the learning and research environment, upgrading facilities and student services, and supporting research and community initiatives. These investments, he added, are designed to keep pace with the university’s 2025–2030 strategy and reinforce its ambition to remain a leading global academic beacon in education, scientific research, and community service, while also playing an active role in sustainable development in the UAE and beyond.
