Investors Show Strong Confidence in AI-Driven Investment Strategies

In a rapidly evolving financial landscape, the trust placed in technology has reached remarkable levels among investors in the UAE. A recent survey revealed that 70.8% of these investors trust artificial intelligence technologies for managing their investments, with a significant number ready to replace human advisors with AI solutions. This article delves into the findings of the survey conducted by Alfiya, a technology platform based in Abu Dhabi, to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping wealth management in the UAE.

Survey Insights on Investor Confidence in AI

A survey conducted by Alfiya between May and June 2025 indicated that approximately 73% of investors in the UAE plan to leverage artificial intelligence as a substitute for traditional human advisors. The results further highlighted that 70.8% of participants expressed confidence in these technologies for managing their investment portfolios. The survey included 509 investors from various backgrounds, encompassing high-net-worth individuals, retail investors, and those with diverse ages and investment experiences.

Perceptions of High-Net-Worth Individuals

Interestingly, the survey revealed that 52% of high-net-worth individuals are satisfied with their usage of artificial intelligence in wealth management—significantly higher than the 37% satisfaction reported by individual investors. This disparity underscores the growing trend among wealthier investors to embrace AI technologies, indicating a shift in how wealth is managed in the region.

Challenges in the Current Digital Landscape

Despite the increasing interest in AI-driven solutions, challenges remain. Approximately 40% of investors noted that existing product offerings do not adequately meet their needs and requirements. This suggests that while investors are eager to integrate digital solutions into their wealth management strategies, many have yet to encounter the seamless user experience they expect. Current platforms appear not to fully align with investor expectations at this stage.

The Balance Between Technology and Human Interaction

While AI solutions are gaining traction, the survey indicates that technology alone cannot replace the essential human element of trust and guidance. Notably, around 50% of investors rely on family members for investment decisions. This illustrates that personal relationships and contextual understanding remain critical components of trust in wealth management.

Roger Rouhana, CEO of Alfiya, stated that “the UAE has always been at the forefront of adopting technological innovations.” He emphasized that the survey results reflect investors’ trends aligning with the nation’s future vision. Rouhana concluded that the most effective solutions will enhance the role of human advisors rather than replace them, merging technical efficiency with the personal relationships valued by investors. Creating specialized platforms that offer these solutions through streamlined and simplified experiences is expected to boost investor engagement.

Overall, the survey suggests that the UAE market is on the verge of a significant transition. The strong interest of investors, combined with advanced regulations from the Abu Dhabi Global Market and the Dubai International Financial Centre, as well as national initiatives like the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 that promote responsible innovation, positions the country to lead the next phase of digital wealth management solutions. This momentum can reinforce its status as a global hub for technology and financial services.
