The UAE’s property technology (PropTech) sector is on course to achieve significant growth, projected to reach AED 5.69 billion (approximately $1.55 billion) by 2030. This marks a substantial increase from AED 2.24 billion in 2024, reflecting a remarkable compound annual growth rate of 17.49%. Market research highlights this surge, underscoring the transformative impact of innovative technologies on the real estate landscape.
Technological Advancements Transforming Real Estate
The driving force behind the UAE PropTech sector’s expansion is the widespread integration of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), and immersive tools including virtual and augmented reality. These innovations enhance efficiency, improve transparency, and boost customer engagement across various segments of the real estate industry, covering development, management, transactions, and investments.
In the construction realm, technologies like VR and AR are being utilized to enhance design precision, expedite collaboration, and minimize errors, thereby facilitating the successful execution of large-scale projects. Australian company Lifesize Plans, which established its presence in the UAE market in 2023, leverages life-sized architectural projections at a 1:1 scale during pre-construction phases to aid in decision-making processes.
Georges Calas, CEO of Lifesize Plans, remarked, “From immersive virtual reality and augmented reality walkthroughs to AI-driven analytics, these new technologies are redefining how real estate is bought, sold, and built in the UAE.” This statement encapsulates the transformative potential these innovations hold for the sector.
The UAE: A Leader in MENA PropTech Innovation
The UAE has positioned itself as the most dynamic PropTech hub in the Middle East and North Africa, boasting 189 firms operating within the sector by 2025—nearly triple the number from just two years prior, according to industry data. Dubai’s launch of a dedicated PropTech hub in July aims to support over 200 startups, attract more than $300 million in investments, and generate 3,000 jobs by 2030.
On a global scale, the PropTech market was valued at $47.08 billion in 2025 and is projected to soar to $179.03 billion by 2034, with an expected growth rate of 16% compounded annually. Factors driving this growth include the digitization of real estate operations, the rising demand for smart buildings, and the increasing adoption of AI, IoT, blockchain, and cloud platforms.
Calas further emphasized, “As the country continues to push the boundaries of innovation and prove to be one of the top investment options for expatriates from all over the world, PropTech is quickly becoming a cornerstone of the market’s long-term resilience and global competitiveness.”
Future Outlook
With robust government support for smart and sustainable urban development, along with strong interest from investors, the UAE’s PropTech sector is poised for continued expansion. Innovative solutions such as AI-powered property platforms, IoT-enabled energy systems, and blockchain-based title registration are set to play crucial roles in this growth trajectory.
As the sector evolves, it not only aims to enhance the efficiency and appeal of real estate transactions but also strives to solidify the UAE’s standing as a global leader in the PropTech landscape. This ongoing transformation underscores a commitment to integrating technology into the very fabric of urban development and investment, paving the way for a more resilient and competitive future in real estate.
