Sharjah Executive Council Approves Innovative Government Data Sharing Framework

In a significant move to enhance transparency and improve inter-agency collaboration, the Executive Council of Sharjah has officially adopted a comprehensive Government Data Sharing Guide. This guide aims to streamline processes, ensure effective data exchange, and foster a more integrated digital environment across various governmental sectors. The decision is poised to transform how data flows between agencies, ultimately benefiting the communities within the emirate.

Meeting Highlights

Chairing the meeting this Tuesday was His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, alongside His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council. The meeting took place at the office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.

Data Sharing Objectives

The Executive Council discussed various topics related to monitoring the performance of governmental departments and implementing public policies within the emirate. A pivotal part of the agenda was the approval of the Government Data Sharing Guide, which seeks to expedite operations, enhance transparency, and regulate the exchange of data among all relevant entities. Furthermore, it establishes a unified reference framework, laying the foundation for a digital ecosystem that supports decision-making and enhances governmental services through integration among related organizations.

Key Features of the Guide

This guide encompasses processes for data exchange between local entities within the emirate and provides structured guidelines for accessing data from external sources. It acts as an essential resource for detailing and categorizing the data that will be shared among authorities, managing risks, and governing data use. Additionally, the guide includes approved templates designed to standardize practices, enhance the efficiency of procedures, and improve the quality and accessibility of data.

Supporting Housing Initiatives

The Council also reviewed a report on housing assistance projects and their progress throughout the emirate. These initiatives aim to provide citizens with the necessary liquidity to build homes, alleviate financial burdens on beneficiaries, and streamline construction procedures. Importantly, the efforts ensure that houses meet the highest construction and technical standards, promoting lasting housing solutions and fostering family stability for a decent living environment.
