The recent exhibition on artificial intelligence showcased innovative government projects, marking a significant step towards a digitally transformed society in the UAE. The events organized by the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications during the annual meetings of the UAE Government 2025 in Abu Dhabi highlighted the government’s commitment to embracing digital innovation. This exhibition demonstrated how modern technology can be an effective tool in promoting sustainable development and better serving the community.
Digital Innovation Trends in Government
The artificial intelligence exhibition featured a range of initiatives aimed at leveraging artificial intelligence technologies and digital transformation across all sectors. Through these solutions, government performance efficiency has been enhanced, and the quality of services provided has improved, contributing to the goals of the “UAE Centennial 2071.” The Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, Omar Sultan Al Olama, emphasized the importance of sustaining these efforts, stating that the government seeks to utilize artificial intelligence tools to provide faster and better services to the community.
Innovations in Health and Human Resources
Among the solutions showcased at the exhibition were innovations from the Emirates Health Services, which presented a smart medical imaging booth. This booth illustrates how artificial intelligence can be used for the early detection of cancer, tuberculosis, strokes, and osteoporosis, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and response speed while promoting preventive medicine.
The exhibition also included the “AI-Powered Human Resources Assistant,” developed by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. This system utilizes artificial intelligence to provide over 100 services and legal inquiries for federal government employees, improving the efficiency of human resources services and supporting adherence to government policies.
Tax Automation and AI in Permitting
Additionally, solutions for “Tax Services Automation” powered by artificial intelligence, developed by the Federal Tax Authority, were presented. This hybrid system combines artificial intelligence with robotic process automation (RPA) to accelerate the processing of value-added tax and corporate tax, resulting in significant time and effort savings. Furthermore, the technique of “Issuing Work Permits for Enterprises Using Artificial Intelligence” was introduced, showcasing how this technology can simplify government procedures.
The exhibition also featured the “AI-Powered Geospatial Intelligence Platform (GIQ),” developed in collaboration between the UAE Space Agency and Space 42. This national platform integrates data from over 300 satellites, contributing to real-time analyses of climate and urban planning.
Future Aspirations
These innovative projects illustrate the role the UAE government plays in making artificial intelligence an essential part of its strategy. Smart transformation is not just a technical goal; it is a comprehensive vision that places humans at the center of development, enhancing the UAE’s status as a global model for proactive digital government. As Omar Al Olama stated, “The UAE government adopts a clear vision to enhance the readiness of entities to keep pace with rapid transformations and shape the future.”
The UAE continues to chart a bright and sustainable future that harnesses technological advancements, marking an important step towards achieving the government’s ambitions in digital innovation.
