Ramadan Weather Outlook Predicts Pleasant Days and Cool Nights

As Ramadan approaches, weather conditions become a vital topic of interest for many. This year, the forecast indicates a Ramadan climate that is mild during the day and cooler at night. The combination of pleasant daytime temperatures and cooler evening conditions creates a unique atmosphere, especially suited for gathering and enjoying evening meals after a day of fasting.

Overall Weather Forecast

The National Center of Meteorology has indicated that climatic expectations during Ramadan suggest generally moderate weather across most regions of the country, characteristic of the winter season. At the beginning of the month, fasting hours will be approximately 12 hours and 46 minutes, gradually increasing to about 13 hours and 25 minutes as the month progresses, according to local time in Abu Dhabi and its suburbs.

Temperatures and Conditions

During the first half of Ramadan, daytime temperatures are expected to remain pleasant. However, there may be a slight increase in temperatures during the latter half. Nights throughout the holy month will be characterized as moderate to pleasantly cool, with particularly cool conditions late at night and during the pre-dawn hours, especially in interior and mountainous regions.

Statistical data indicates that maximum temperature averages will range between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius, with some inner areas possibly experiencing temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius during peak hours. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 18 to 21 degrees Celsius, occasionally dipping near or below freezing in some mountainous and inland areas during early morning hours.

Weather Systems and Rainfall

The region will be affected by the extension of the Siberian high-pressure system during this period, which may weaken at times, thus allowing transient low-pressure features to move in from the west or east. When these coincide with a deep upper-level low, the likelihood of cumulonimbus cloud development and rain will increase across the country.

Long-term forecasts suggest that expected rainfall will be at or below average levels, with monthly precipitation averaging around eight millimeters. It is noteworthy that the highest recorded rainfall in a 24-hour period during this time reached 287.6 millimeters in the Al Shuweib area on March 9, 2016.

Humidity and Wind Patterns

Humidity levels are anticipated to rise during the night and early morning hours, creating conditions conducive to fog formation in some areas. The average relative humidity is expected to be between 70 and 85% at night and in the morning, with lower percentages ranging from 20 to 35% during the daytime.

Winds will predominantly be from the southeast at night and in the morning, shifting to northwesterly during the afternoon and evening (sea and land breezes). Occasionally, winds may intensify with deepening pressure systems, stirring up dust and sand in certain areas, with an average wind speed of about 13 km/h. The highest recorded gust reached 141 km/h in Jebel Mebreh on February 27, 2010.

This moderate daytime and cool nighttime Ramadan climate provides an ideal backdrop for the spirit of the month, encouraging community gatherings and shared meals. As the days lengthen, both locals and visitors alike will find themselves immersed in the tranquility and beauty of seasonal changes amidst the rituals of Ramadan.
