In a heartwarming turn of events, the Naif Police Station successfully reunited a six-year-old girl with her family within just half an hour of receiving a missing person report. The child had strayed from her home in the Freij Al Murar area, sparking a swift response from local law enforcement.
Quick Action by Police
According to Brigadier Expert Omar Moussa Ashour, the Director of Naif Police Station, the alert was registered with the Operations Department’s Command and Control Centre. Upon receiving the information about the missing child, a dedicated team was immediately formed, and her photograph was circulated among all police patrols and investigators in the vicinity.
Child Found Safe
Thanks to the quick thinking and prompt action of one of the police patrols, the girl was located on a nearby street within thirty minutes of the initial report. Unfortunately, she was found in a state of distress, crying in fear. Officers transported her safely back to the station, where the Victim Support Department provided her with the necessary care and attention until her father arrived.
A Father’s Concern
The girl’s father recounted the events leading up to her disappearance, explaining that he had taken her to a grocery store close to their home. After completing their purchase, he turned around only to find that she was missing. Initially, he assumed that she might have returned home on her own, but when he rushed back, he discovered she was not there with her mother.
Keeping Children Safe
In light of this incident, the General Command of Dubai Police has urged parents to remain vigilant about their children’s whereabouts and to avoid leaving them unattended. The police emphasised that safeguarding children is primarily the responsibility of their families.
Furthermore, they highlighted the importance of educating children on how to behave if they become lost, including how to seek help from police officers or security personnel when in crowded spaces or public areas.
