The “Journey Through History” project is presented in the lower gallery of the Louvre Abu Dhabi and lasts for 12 months. This initiative seeks to transform history into a living experience that enables visitors to immerse themselves in the critical moments that shaped the world. Interactive Technology
The virtual reality experience lasts approximately 25 minutes and utilizes advanced wireless technologies that track body movements. This allows ten participants to feel fully engaged, as they have the freedom to navigate within vibrant digital environments—all without screens or controllers. This collaborative format fosters a sense of shared presence, adding a tangible social dimension to the journey.
Inspiring Historical Stops
The “Journey Through History” features three significant cultural stops: it begins in Imperial Rome in the first century AD, where the symbolism of ruling power is evoked. This is followed by Baghdad in the thirteenth century, the center of intellectual and scientific renaissance in Arab history. Finally, participants move to Mughal India in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, showcasing luxury and architectural arts at their finest.
