The much-anticipated Sports Week under the ‘Our Summer is Different’ programme kicked off at the Dibba Al-Hisn Cultural and Sports Club, igniting a vibrant atmosphere filled with energy and engagement. A wide array of participants enjoyed a diverse selection of sports, cultural, and recreational activities.
Celebrating Heritage Through Sport
The week began with an exhibition showcasing popular Emirati games, allowing children to connect with their heritage by learning about traditional pastimes enjoyed by their parents and grandparents. Additionally, an exhibition featuring old photographs of former players from the Dibba Al-Hisn Club offered participants a glimpse into the club’s rich history, showcasing moments that celebrate the legacy of sports across generations.
Educational Workshops and Activities
The programme also included educational workshops, notably a session on nutrition and sports conducted by Dibba Fujairah Hospital, alongside another focusing on the risks of electronic gaming. A digital competition titled ‘Sports Ethics’ was introduced, designed to instil important sporting values and ethics among participants.
Engaging Sports Activities for Children
Children participated in a variety of sports and activities, including bowling, table tennis, billiards, and PlayStation games. Traditional sports such as football, karate, and cycling, as well as recreational and water games, were also featured, creating an enjoyable environment that promoted skill development alongside fun.

Among those present at the event were Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawaa, President of the Dibba Al-Hisn Cultural and Sports Club, and Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ghaseeb, head of the organising committee for the programme.
Dr. Al-Mutawaa expressed his delight at the significant turnout and the enthusiastic participation observed throughout the week. He praised the efforts of those behind the programme, highlighting its broad range of activities and games that attracted numerous children during the summer break.
He added, “At Dibba Al-Hisn Club, we are committed to making our children and their parents happy through purposeful sports, cultural, and recreational programmes that provide a safe and inviting environment for kids. We aim to utilise their free time beneficially, steering them away from the dangers of playing in the streets, ensuring the club remains a safe haven nurturing our children’s potential.”
