Empowering Futures: Back-to-School Campaign Launches with Vision

In an ambitious initiative aimed at shaping the educational landscape for the forthcoming academic year, the Ministry of Education has launched the “Back to School” campaign for 2026-2027, themed “With the Charter, We Reach New Heights.” This initiative seeks to embody the values and principles of the National Education Charter in students’ daily lives, while fostering the essential roles of schools, families, and communities in nurturing generations that take pride in their identity and are equipped with future-ready skills.

Integration of the National Education Charter

The National Education Charter, unveiled and signed by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, alongside his fellow rulers on 28 February during the Emirati Education Day, serves as a national reference outlining strategic educational goals and the characteristics of learners in the UAE.

Comprising three crucial dimensions—national identity, personal attributes, and future skills—the Charter aims to steer educational practices towards cultivating a cohesive and skilled future generation.

Minister’s Vision for Success

Sarah bint Youssef Al Amiri, Minister of Education, emphasised that the real measure of the Charter’s success lies in its integration into daily educational practices and in fostering dynamic partnerships between families and the community. She noted that the campaign is designed to translate the Charter’s principles into tangible initiatives, activities, and educational experiences that promote national identity, conscious thinking, innovation, and social responsibility.

Collaborative Efforts and Implementation Strategies

The development of the Charter was a product of a national effort, engaging over 200 representatives from 31 federal, local, and private entities through more than ten workshops and consultation sessions. The campaign will activate the Charter through six integrated pathways, including curricula, learning practices, school life and behaviour, family roles, and extracurricular activities.

Additionally, it will feature “Charter Weeks” and the “National Education Charter Passport,” which will accompany students throughout the year, culminating in the “Golden Passport” award and recognition at the end of the academic year.
