Economic Facilitation Enhancing Flexibility and Growth in Dubai‘s Hospitality, Hotel, and Business Community
The Dubai government is continually striving to enhance sustainable growth across various sectors, particularly in hospitality, hotels, and the business community. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has approved a set of economic facilitations valued at one billion dirhams, in line with the vision of the UAE leadership. These facilitations focus on strengthening the resilience of businesses, enabling them to face challenges and regain growth momentum, marking an important step toward business sustainability in Dubai.
Deferral of Fees to Support the Hotel Sector
The economic facilitations directed at the hospitality sector in Dubai include allowing hotels to defer the payment of room, food, and beverage sales fees, along with the tourism dirham, for a period of three months starting from April 1, 2026. This decision encompasses all hotel establishments, including serviced apartments and holiday homes. These measures aim to alleviate financial burdens and enhance liquidity in both the hotel and tourism sectors, contributing to the continuity of business operations.
Deferral of Business License Fees
Additionally, the economic facilitations include several measures aimed at reducing the burden on the business community, such as deferring fees associated with business licenses. This includes optional application fees, amendment fees, commercial advertising fees, and other local charges. This allows companies to focus on their core tasks and enhance their competitive capabilities.
Officials’ Statements Regarding the Facilitations
Commenting on this initiative, His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, stated: “This initiative reflects Dubai’s economic model based on flexibility, clarity, and cooperation.” He added, “The wise leadership aims to alleviate the financial burden on the business community and stimulate the economy, demonstrating our commitment to supporting the growth of the sector.”
Future Steps to Enhance Growth
On another note, His Excellency Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing, stated that these economic facilitations came in response to feedback from partners in the tourism sector, affirming that they will help enhance the sector’s capacity to continue its growth. He explained that assessing challenges and available opportunities can contribute to developing the necessary policies to promote growth.
In conclusion, these economic facilitations represent a strategic step toward supporting the hospitality, hotel, and business community in Dubai, reflecting the state’s commitment to enhancing growth and making Dubai a preferred destination for investments and business.
