Dubas Initiative Enables 2000 First-Time Homebuyers to Thrive

The “First Property Ownership” program reflects Dubai‘s commitment to promoting property ownership principles, enabling approximately 2,000 citizens and residents to own their homes over the past six months. With access to unique benefits and streamlined processes, this program contributes to enhancing stability and prosperity in Dubai’s real estate market. The strong statistics from the “First Property Ownership” program highlight its positive impact on the local economy, making it a key focus in developing residential market strategies.

Enhancing Property Ownership in Dubai

The “First Property Ownership” program in Dubai continues to solidify the emirate’s position as a leading global destination for property ownership. By facilitating the transition from renting to owning, the program promotes long-term stability in a market considered one of the most mature and attractive worldwide. Since its launch, the program has successfully enabled around 2,000 citizens and residents to purchase their first homes, achieving residential sales exceeding 3.25 billion dirhams. These figures reflect the impact of effective policies implemented by Dubai to support residential ownership and increase sustainable demand.

Strategic Partnership to Enhance Ownership

The “First Property Ownership” program is set to launch in July 2025 as a joint initiative between the Dubai Land Department and the Department of Economy and Tourism, providing a framework that expands property ownership for all residents, regardless of nationality or income levels. The program includes close collaboration between government entities, real estate developers, and financial institutions, contributing to the creation of a supportive and encouraging environment for home buying.

Unique Benefits for Buyers

The “First Property Ownership” program offers numerous qualitative benefits, including priority access to new projects and mortgage solutions specifically designed for first-time buyers. These factors make the decision to own property easier in a competitive living environment. The program also supports the goals of Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the emirate’s economic size by 2033, enhancing Dubai’s status as a global business and investment hub.

Success and Future Prospects

Hadi Badri, CEO of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation, stated: “The widespread interest in the ‘First Property Ownership’ program reflects Dubai’s proactive vision in developing integrated housing and economic policies.” The program has recorded over 41,000 registrations, with data indicating that approximately 49% of the purchased units were bought by residents who have settled in Dubai for more than five years. This demonstrates the program’s success in converting long-term residency into actual ownership, reinforcing residents’ connection to the emirate as a place to live and invest.

The anticipated expansion of the program, through the inclusion of new partners from the real estate development sector, is expected to provide greater options for registrants. All of this represents a step toward shaping a more inclusive and sustainable real estate market, further solidifying Dubai’s position as the primary destination for property ownership and investment.
