The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation has said that the economic packages, initiatives, proactive measures and customs facilitations implemented by Dubai Customs over the past period reflected the emirate’s forward-looking approach to strengthening economic resilience, ensuring the continuity of trade, and supporting a comprehensive system of customs facilitation and economic solutions that have kept commerce flowing smoothly, reinforced the business community’s confidence, supported company sustainability, and enhanced Dubai’s position as a global hub for trade and logistics, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda “D33”.

These efforts are aligned with the economic directives approved by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, regarding the adoption of economic facilitations aimed at strengthening economic resilience and business sustainability.

In a statement issued yesterday, Dubai Customs said these packages delivered a direct economic impact, providing more than Dh79 million in cash liquidity to the private sector and ensuring the continuity of trade flows worth Dh33.9 billion. They also helped sustain the operations of thousands of companies, strengthen supply-chain resilience and reinforce the competitiveness of the business environment, driving sustainable economic growth in the emirate.

Integrated packages

The results of the integrated package of facilitations and measures implemented by Dubai Customs showed that responding to regional developments helped bolster the confidence of the business community, support company stability and raise the emirate’s readiness to deal with shifts in global trade flows.

Executive Director of the Financial and Administrative Affairs Sector at Dubai Customs, Rashid Al Shard, said: “The economic packages were a direct response to the needs of the business community and focused on providing practical solutions that enhanced companies’ flexibility and reduced financial and operational burdens, in implementation of the wise leadership’s directives to support the private sector and strengthen the competitiveness of Dubai’s economy.”

He said: “The package included extending deadlines for suspended customs duties, instalment payment of duties and reducing financial fines by 80% in customs cases. It helped provide more than Dh79 million in cash liquidity for the benefit of 428 companies, enhancing their business continuity and reinforcing the business community’s confidence in Dubai’s ability to provide flexible economic solutions that keep pace with various changes.”

Economic impact

The economic impact of these measures is further confirmed by Customs Declaration No. (12/2026) on extending the deadlines for suspended customs duties, which benefited 6,613 companies through a 120-day extension for the customs declarations covered by the announcement. These include import for re-export, temporary admission and transit in all its forms. The measure provided greater flexibility for customers in managing their customs obligations, improved their cash liquidity and supported business continuity and the smooth flow of trade and supply chains, with the possibility of extending the facilitations through a subsequent customs declaration in accordance with the approved controls and procedures.

The package also included Customs Declarations No. (14/2026) and (15/2026), relating to instalment payment of customs duties and an 80% reduction in financial fines, as well as extending the transit period from 30 to 90 days, facilitating the entry of shipments through Khorfakkan Port, Fujairah Port and the Hatta border crossing, and transporting them overland under the customs guarantee system. Priority was also given to the completion of food and pharmaceutical transactions, reinforcing supply-chain sustainability and trade-flow flexibility.

Green corridor

From the first days of the geopolitical changes, Dubai Customs took the initiative to launch the “Green Corridor” to ensure the continued flow of trade through alternative routes and maintain the smooth arrival of goods to markets. The Green Corridor facilitated the smooth movement of more than 203.24 thousand containers and the transport of more than 3.16 million tonnes of goods, worth more than Dh33.9 billion, arriving from 188 countries between 1 March and 30 June 2026. Food products topped the list of goods transiting through the Green Corridor at more than Dh5.3 billion, followed by machinery and electrical appliances at Dh4.24 billion, then vehicles at Dh2.21 billion.

Business community

Dubai Customs strengthened its direct engagement with the business community, identifying more than 83 challenges and development suggestions in the fields of customs clearance, logistics services and shipping costs. A large proportion of these were converted into practical initiatives and measures within a record period, contributing to improved services, faster transaction completion and greater flexibility in trade flows, reflecting the strength of the partnership between Dubai Customs and the private sector.

• Responding to regional developments helped bolster the confidence of the business community, support company stability and raise the emirate’s readiness to deal with shifts in global trade flows.
