Abu Dhabi Ports Group Confirms Business Continuity Across All Operations Amid Regional Developments
In light of the current geopolitical challenges and regional developments, Abu Dhabi Ports Group has reaffirmed its strong commitment to business continuity, ensuring that all its operational activities continue as usual. These aspects highlight the group’s resilience in facing crises and its ongoing dedication to maintaining a high level of services for all stakeholders.
Activation of Crisis Management Procedures
Abu Dhabi Ports Group held an urgent meeting to activate crisis management and business continuity procedures, in coordination with the relevant authorities in the country. This initiative aims to ensure the safety of all employees and partners while guaranteeing that services provided to the public remain uninterrupted. All ports and terminals in the UAE managed by the group are continuing their operational activities fully, reflecting their ability to overcome current challenges.
Maritime Traffic and Performance Expectations
With a decline in maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, the group anticipates a decrease in the number of vessels arriving at Khalifa Port. However, services at the port will continue uninterrupted and at full operational capacity, demonstrating the group’s resilience and operational efficiency. It is expected that handling volumes across the group’s diverse network will increase due to shifts in global trade routes resulting from regional developments.
Maritime Fleet and Logistics Services
Abu Dhabi Ports Group confirms that the vast majority of its fleet, consisting of 122 vessels, operates outside the Strait of Hormuz. This fleet includes various types of cargo ships, including container ships and multipurpose vessels, contributing to the continuity of shipping within the Arabian Gulf. The potential impact on the maritime and shipping sector is expected to be limited, which will positively reflect on economic cities and free zones.
Future Vision and Steadfast Commitment
In this context, Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, stated that global trade has consistently demonstrated its ability to adapt to geopolitical challenges. He emphasized that the group relies on its operational discipline and proactive risk management to support the stability of supply chains, remaining committed to its obligations to stakeholders. Abu Dhabi Ports Group closely monitors geopolitical developments, enabling it to assess any potential implications for shipping routes and supply chains.
