As the summer holidays approach, the administration for Women’s and Children’s Protection at the General Department of Human Rights in Dubai Police has renewed its call for travellers to prioritise the safety of children during their journeys. Families are urged to be vigilant and prepared, ensuring that their children’s personal items and necessities are ready before departure.
Ensuring Child Safety Abroad
The department has launched the campaign titled “Our Children’s Summer is Safe,” emphasising the importance of protecting children while travelling. Parents are encouraged to maintain consistent supervision and care for their children, particularly during trips undertaken outside the country, and to adhere to the laws and regulations of the destinations they visit. This is especially pertinent in areas with specific legal protections for children against neglect and endangerment.
Supervision and Preparedness
Parents are strongly advised against leaving children unsupervised and are reminded to take necessary precautions in crowded public places. In addition, keeping emergency contact numbers readily available, alongside the contact details for the UAE embassy, will facilitate prompt responses to any emergencies that may arise during travels. The campaign encourages families to make the most of their summer vacations in a safe and responsible manner, thereby ensuring the protection of their children.
