Dubai Police Enhance School Safety with Boosted Patrol Presence

The Dubai Police have deployed security patrols and traffic inspectors in front of schools to ensure a safe environment for students as the new academic year begins. As part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety, Major General Saif Mahir Al Mazrouei, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations, launched the “Accident-Free Day” initiative, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic rules. This initiative aims to raise traffic awareness within the community, providing greater safety around schools as students return for the new school year.

Visit to Al Ittihad Private School

Major General Saif Mahir Al Mazrouei visited Al Ittihad Private School in Jumeirah, where he participated in the initiative’s activities. This visit was in collaboration with Khalid Magazine, part of the Security Media Department. Brigadier Issam Ibrahim Al Awar, Deputy Director of the General Traffic Department, and several officers were present to reinforce Dubai Police’s message regarding road safety.

Enhancing Awareness and Safety on the Roads

Major General Al Mazrouei confirmed that the “Accident-Free Day” initiative focuses on increasing traffic awareness and encouraging compliance with safety measures. He noted that the initiative coincides with the start of the academic year, making it an ideal opportunity to provide guidance and raise awareness in the community. This initiative has achieved notable successes in previous years, ensuring its continued positive impact.

Comprehensive Traffic Plan

The Dubai Police have developed a traffic plan that includes deploying security patrols and traffic inspectors in front of schools, as well as at vital locations to reduce congestion. These plans are managed by general directors and their deputies and aim to organize traffic flow, facilitating the entry and exit of students and parents. Awareness programs have also been implemented for school bus drivers to inform them of the necessary preventive measures for transporting students.

Successes of Previous Initiatives

As part of Dubai Police’s efforts, Brigadier Jumaa Bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Traffic Department, visited Al Thani Bin Mohammed School in Al Tawar. During the visit, he informed teachers about the details of the “Accident-Free Day” initiative, which resulted in zero fatalities in accidents, along with a significant decrease in accident rates on previous school days. These positive results reflect the ongoing success of efforts to enhance road safety in Dubai.
