Launch of the Summer Student Program at Dubai Police
Yesterday marked the commencement of the Summer Student Program at Dubai Police, a vibrant initiative organized by the Dubai Police’s General Department for Drug Control. Under the theme “Our Summer is Security and Happiness… Innovation and Leadership,” this program is in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, along with various external partners. This year, 1,332 students from 35 different countries, aged between 11 and 18, are participating in this enriching summer program.
Support from Dubai Police Leadership
Lieutenant General Eid Mohammed bin Thani Hareb, Director of the General Department for Drug Control, expressed the continuous commitment of the Dubai Police leadership to supporting and organizing summer programs for school students at the end of the academic year. The goal of the Summer Student Program at Dubai Police is to utilize students’ free time effectively, foster a sense of belonging to their national identity, and instill respect for laws and regulations along with values of loyalty.
Diverse Training Opportunities
According to Brigadier Abdulrahman Sharaf Al-Maamari, the Director of the International Protection Center, this year’s summer courses will be distributed across 16 training centers. He highlighted the introduction of five categories of activities and programs within the Summer Student Program at Dubai Police: training programs, specialized courses, “Your Awareness is Protection,” lectures from partners, and field visits.
Interactive Programs and Activities
The field training programs include military training, sports training, future officer training, and various sports competitions. The specialized courses encompass the Junior Lifeguard course, diving training, aspiring detective training, martial arts, Junior Assistant 901, bicycle patrol courses, and SWAT training. The “Your Awareness is Protection” lectures focus on raising awareness about the dangers of drugs, electronic smoking, e-crimes, video games, bullying, traffic safety, and more.
Engaging Field Visits
Field visits are an integral part of the Summer Student Program at Dubai Police, featuring excursions to key locations such as the Dubai Police Museum, the Unified Call Center 901, the K9 care and handling program, the shooting range, forensic evidence units, and equine care facilities. These visits aim to provide students with practical insights into the various operations and responsibilities of the police force.
This summer program not only aims to educate but also to inspire young minds through leadership and innovation, cultivating a responsible and engaged future generation.
