Initiative aims to strengthen family cohesion and broaden awareness of endowment culture
As part of a broader collaboration to launch sustainable waqf projects, Dubai’s Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation and the Dubai Women’s Association have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish an innovative endowment fund that will support the collective wedding initiative, provide long-term financing for family stability, and back a range of social and charitable programmes focused on strengthening households and promoting the values of solidarity and giving.
The new fund is designed to ensure stable financial support for the initiative while also contributing to family preparation programmes for couples planning marriage. The aim is to reinforce household stability, measure social impact and deepen community partnerships through a model built on continuity and shared responsibility. Funding will come from the Social Endowments Fund operated by Dubai Endowments, adding a durable financial base to the effort.
Under the memorandum, the two sides will exchange expertise in supporting Emirati families and strengthening their cohesion and stability. The partnership also includes joint efforts to expand awareness of waqf through educational campaigns and the sharing of informational materials with the association’s strategic partners, reinforcing the role of endowment as a tool for social impact.
Areas of cooperation further include the launch of sustainable endowment projects that generate lasting returns for shared development and humanitarian programmes, as well as Dubai Endowments’ annual contribution to organizing the collective wedding initiative and its formal recognition as one of the initiative’s strategic sponsors.

The two parties also agreed to work together in support of the “Qurret A‘yn” initiative by contributing to its programmes and activities and by providing financial or in-kind assistance as agreed. Their collaboration will extend to joint projects that promote family cohesion and social values, alongside seasonal and charitable initiatives, with room to create additional areas of cooperation that serve their common goals.
Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the Foundation, said the partnership with the association reflects the institution’s approach of directing endowment resources toward community initiatives with lasting impact.
He added that the fund will be backed by the Social Endowments Fund affiliated with the foundation, creating a sustainable waqf resource to support the collective wedding initiative.
Dr. Fatima Al Falaasi, Director-General of the association, said the strategic partnership marks a significant step toward making community initiatives more sustainable, especially the collective wedding programme. She noted that the launch of the endowment fund reflects a shared belief that investing in the family is an investment in the future of society.
She said: «نفخر بهذه الشراكة التي تعزز التكامل بين المؤسسات، وتوسيع أثر المبادرات الأسرية والتنموية، بما ينسجم مع توجهات دولة الإمارات في بناء مجتمع أكثر تماسكاً واستدامة».
With this agreement, «الأوقاف» و«نسائية» دبي are setting a practical example of how endowment-based financing can support social priorities without relying on short-term funding cycles. The initiative is expected to widen participation in collective weddings, increase preparedness among couples, and strengthen the wider network of family-focused programmes across Dubai.
