الشارقة 24 – راشد حمدان:
The sixth edition of the Al Dhaid Date Festival concluded successfully on Sunday at the Al Dhaid Expo Center, organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Al Dhaid Municipality. The event saw a remarkable turnout of date palm owners and date producers from across the Emirates.
Gratitude for Continued Support
Mohammed Musabah Al Tunaiji, the festival’s general coordinator, expressed his sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for his ongoing support and generous contributions to the agriculture and date palm sector. He highlighted that the directives and continuous patronage of His Highness play a crucial role in sustaining the festival’s success and enhancing its prominence year after year.
A Thriving Event
Al Tunaiji noted to “Sharjah 24” that this year’s festival experienced significant participation from date palm owners and farmers from various Emirates. The enthusiastic competitions in the commercial marketplace and widespread involvement in daily auctions were key highlights throughout the festival’s duration.
Notable Developments
The general coordinator also pointed out the evident progress made in this edition, which reflects the experiences gained over the past five years. This was particularly visible in the professional standards of packaging and canning, alongside innovative approaches to presenting date products, as well as the rich diversity of date varieties on display.
