Emirati Lawyer Takes on 28 Cases for “Emirati Women” Free of Charge

In celebration of Emirati Women’s Day, Emirati lawyer Fatima Al Ali launched an innovative humanitarian initiative under the slogan “28 Free Cases.” This initiative aims to provide free legal services to women, supporting the rights of Emirati women and enhancing their role in society. The initiative is part of the activities of the recently held Lawyers’ Forum organized by the Emirates Association of Lawyers and Legal Consultants in the Eastern Region.

Reasons for Launching the Initiative

Al Ali emphasized that the idea of “28 Free Cases” reflects her commitment to her country and her desire to highlight the status of Emirati women. “The choice of the number 28 carries symbolic significance related to the celebration of Emirati Women’s Day, which falls on the 28th of August each year,” Al Ali stated. The initiative will encompass cases in personal status, labor, and criminal law, helping to alleviate financial burdens on women and ensuring better legal defense and representation.

The Role of the Emirates Association of Lawyers and Legal Consultants

The initiative highlighted the pivotal role of the Emirates Association of Lawyers and Legal Consultants in promoting and empowering women’s rights. “Such initiatives contribute to reinforcing the values of equality and enhance the efforts of Emirati female lawyers in supporting justice,” Al Ali added. The association is keen to elevate the status of women in the legal field, enabling them to fully enjoy their rights.

Opinions of Participating Lawyers

The forum included several Emirati female lawyers and academics, where lawyer Kifah Al Zaabi expressed the importance of empowering women in society as a fundamental pillar for development. “Every successful woman needs support from the men in her life,” Al Zaabi said, highlighting the importance of balancing professional ambitions with family responsibilities. Furthermore, lawyer Noura Al Hajri added that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak is the primary supporter of women’s empowerment across various sectors, making the success of Emirati women possible.

Celebrating Women’s Achievements

Participants at the forum included Dr. Malihah Al Mazmi and Dr. Aisha Al Suraydi, who provided insights into the role of Emirati women in the national renaissance. The participants affirmed that celebrating women on their day is a reflection of leadership’s appreciation for women’s achievements in various fields. “Empowering women is an investment in the future of the nation and its generations,” Dr. Al Mazmi added, reflecting the leadership’s commitment to gender equality in all aspects of life.

In conclusion, the “28 Free Cases” initiative serves as a model for supporting Emirati women and their rights. The initiative aims to bring about positive change in society and provide opportunities for women, enhancing their active role in nation-building.
