45 Participants Join Dubai’s Fourth “Sawaed Al-Aman” Edition

The fourth edition of the “Sawaed Al Aman” programme has launched in Dubai with the participation of more than 45 “Safety Ambassadors”, and will run for four weeks.

Organised by the Safety Ambassadors Council within the General Department of Human Rights at Dubai Police, the programme is designed to empower young people and strengthen their role in the community. It does this through an integrated training plan aimed at developing leadership and knowledge-based skills, and preparing participants to become active ambassadors for promoting a culture of safety and supporting efforts to protect society.

Dubai Police highlights youth engagement

Director of the General Department of Human Rights at Dubai Police, Brigadier Abdulrahman Al Shaer, said that, in line with the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Dubai Police pays close attention to students at various stages by involving them in the different programmes and activities it runs throughout the year.

He said these initiatives have a positive impact on society, enhance security and safety, and contribute significantly to building a generation equipped with knowledge, awareness and understanding.

Brigadier Al Shaer called on the participating students to make the most of the programme, to offer suggestions and observations, to state their specific requirements for programmes and activities, and to raise the topics they would like to explore. He affirmed that Dubai Police supports creative and outstanding students and serves as a nurturing environment for talented pupils, while also commending parents for encouraging their children and supporting the development of their skills.

Developing practical experience and responsibility

For his part, Deputy Director of the General Department of Human Rights, Colonel Faisal Al Khameeri, said the “Sawaed Al Aman” programme aims to develop the skills of participating students by assigning them work tasks across various Dubai Police departments.

He said they are distributed among different specialisms according to their interests and abilities, as well as the activities in which they have excelled at school.

Meanwhile, Head of the Safety Ambassadors Council, Major Rashid Nasser Al Ali, said the first week of the programme will be held at the General Department of Airport Security, where students will be introduced to the programme, its objectives and the role of Safety Ambassadors.

He added that the week will also include a number of training topics, most notably an introduction to Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 on the Child Rights Law, “Wadeema”, alongside success stories and lectures on intelligence, discipline and other specialist subjects.

Hands-on training across police departments

During the second and third weeks, Safety Ambassadors will be distributed across a number of general departments and police stations, allowing them to become familiar with the nature of police work, gain practical experience and strengthen the values of social responsibility.

The programme will conclude in the final week with a graduation ceremony for the Safety Ambassadors, marking the culmination of their training journey.
