As Dubai marks the 77th birthday of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, DAMAC is joining the celebration with a community-led tree-planting initiative in DAMAC Hills that brings together people representing 77 nationalities. The event highlights both the milestone occasion and a shared commitment to a greener, more sustainable Dubai.
Planting a symbol of growth and sustainability
Today’s initiative centres on planting the “Torch” tree in DAMAC Hills, in recognition of Sheikh Mohammed’s exceptional journey and his many achievements. The activity reflects a wider effort to support Dubai Green and sustainability goals while adding to the community’s natural landscape.
Amira Sajwani, Managing Director of the company, said: «لطالما كانت قصة دبي عنواناً للاتحاد والتطور والتنوع الثقافي الغني.
Part of a broader urban vision
The initiative was launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, with the aim of enhancing the city’s landscape, providing generous shaded areas, and helping to moderate temperatures during the summer months.
Through this step, DAMAC said it is reaffirming its commitment to Dubai’s long-term environmental objectives and contributing to the emirate’s vision by helping to build urban communities that are greener, more liveable and more sustainable.
