The UAE’s Council for Defence Enablement, Ta’azez, has launched Foresight, a quarterly magazine published in both Arabic and English, as a new Emirati platform for strategic dialogue linking ideas, policy and industry. The publication is designed to look ahead to the shifts reshaping the future of defence, security, defence industries and advanced technologies.
A platform for strategic dialogue
The magazine was unveiled at a ceremony held at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, attended by senior officials, representatives of government, military and security entities, the Council’s strategic partners, as well as representatives of academic and research institutions, the defence industries sector, and a number of representatives from friendly countries and international partners.
Its launch reflects the Council’s wider role in strengthening the national defence and security ecosystem by providing a knowledge-based platform that enriches strategic dialogue and brings together decision-makers, researchers, experts and industry leaders to exchange views on the issues and trends likely to shape the defence and security landscape over the coming decades.
Exclusive interview opens the first issue
The inaugural issue features an exclusive interview with His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Council for Defence Enablement.
In the interview, he presents his vision of sovereign capability as the foundation for building national independence and empowering leadership. He also addresses the role of the defence industry, innovation, strategic partnerships and investment in human capital in strengthening readiness for the future.

Alongside the interview, the issue includes a range of articles and studies written by leading thinkers, researchers and experts.
