Abu Dhabi has announced the launch of the Li’mad Sovereign Investment Platform, chaired by Khalid bin Mohammed. This initiative aims to enhance sustainable economic growth within the emirate and is part of a broader strategy to diversify income sources and achieve optimal investment returns, thereby strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global investment hub.
The Supreme Council for Financial and Economic Affairs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi has issued a decision to form the Board of Directors of Li’mad Holding Company, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Board Members
The board includes His Excellency Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, His Excellency Jassim Mohammed Buatabah Al Zaabi as the Executive Director and CEO of the company, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mubarak bin Naweel Al Mazrouei, His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Shurafa Al Hammadi, His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, His Excellency Walid Al Maqreb Al Mehairi, and His Excellency Kamal Ishaq Al Mazmi.
Establishment of Li’mad
Li’mad was established as a sovereign investment platform for the Government of Abu Dhabi, aimed at enhancing sustainable economic growth, diversifying income sources, and achieving the best investment returns for the emirate. Through this platform, Abu Dhabi seeks to leverage its resources and create a positive impact on the local economy.
Diversification of the Investment Portfolio
Through a comprehensive investment approach, Li’mad aims to develop and manage a diverse portfolio of assets and projects in priority sectors both within the UAE and internationally. These sectors include infrastructure, real estate, financial services and asset management, advanced industries and technologies, urban transportation systems, and smart cities.
