Visa-Free Travel to India Offered by Abu Dhabi for Tourists

Indian tourists can take advantage of a new initiative allowing them to enter the UAE without additional visa costs, provided they book a minimum three-night stay in Abu Dhabi. This promotional offer, announced by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), aims to boost tourism from India and is effective from August 1 to October 31. The programme will accommodate up to 20,000 visas during its initial rollout period.

Eligibility Criteria for Visa-Free Travel

The offer is exclusively available to Indian passport holders departing from India. To be eligible, travellers must book their holidays through participating travel partners and ensure their accommodation includes at least three consecutive nights at a hotel in Abu Dhabi, along with a return flight from India. This effectively allows tourists to save Dhs285, as DCT Abu Dhabi will reimburse or directly cover the visa fees for the partnered travel agencies.

Booking Process and Requirements

To utilise this visa-free offer, it is essential for travellers to confirm that their chosen tour agency is registered under the DCT Abu Dhabi’s visa-free programme. Once confirmed, the booking should clearly indicate that the Dhs285 visa fee is waived or included within the promotional offer. It’s important to note that applications for the free visa cannot be made independently; rather, bookings must be completed through accredited travel agents or hotels affiliated with the DCT Abu Dhabi.

Supporting Statements from DCT Abu Dhabi

“India continues to be one of our most important international markets, and we remain committed to working closely with our travel partners to make Abu Dhabi even more accessible for Indian travellers,” stated Abdulla Yousuf, Director of International Operations at DCT Abu Dhabi. This initiative reflects the ongoing efforts to strengthen ties and enhance travel opportunities between the UAE and India.

Final Thoughts for Travellers

Before finalising your travel plans, it’s advisable to consult with your selected travel agency to ensure they are part of the DCT Abu Dhabi’s visa-free programme. This initiative not only makes travel more accessible but also enhances the overall experience for Indian tourists looking to explore the rich culture and attractions of Abu Dhabi.
