The UAE Pavilion at the Beijing Book Fair: A Distinguished Participation

The UAE Pavilion at the Beijing Book Fair is making a distinguished contribution to the 2025 exhibition, reflecting the cultural ambitions of the United Arab Emirates. This event showcases the UAE’s commitment to cultural and intellectual collaboration, making it an important meeting point for publishers and intellectuals from around the world.

Visit from the Saudi Delegation

The UAE Pavilion witnessed a notable visit from a high-level Saudi delegation aimed at enhancing cultural cooperation between the two countries. The delegation was led by Ali Al-Othman, Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the People’s Republic of China, and included Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, the CEO of the Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Authority, along with several cultural officials and Saudi publishers.

The purpose of this visit was to explore the latest Emirati publications and exchange experiences regarding the publishing industry. The delegation listened to pavilion supervisors about the prominent titles on display and the participating entities in the Emirati house, which focus on literature, heritage, and sustainable development.

Seminar on “Prospects of Chinese-Middle Eastern Relations”

As part of the cultural activities, the Trends Research and Consultations Center organized a seminar titled “Prospects of Chinese-Middle Eastern Relations in Light of Global Transformations” at the center’s pavilion in the exhibition. The seminar was moderated by Farida Bai Yi Nan, Head of the Arabic Language Department at China Today magazine, discussing the role of the Belt and Road Initiative in enhancing Arab-Chinese economic integration.

Participants in the seminar presented opportunities and areas for cultural and educational cooperation between China and Arab countries, alongside China’s stance on key Middle Eastern issues. Hu Jiwan, a researcher specializing in Arab studies at Zhejiang International Studies University, emphasized that cultural cooperation is an important link in the relationships between China and Arab countries, noting that there are over 48 universities in China offering Arabic language courses.
