In a commendable act of solidarity, the UAE continues its vital humanitarian efforts through the “طيور الخير” initiative, dropping essential aid over Gaza. These operations reflect the nation’s unwavering commitment to support Palestinians, particularly those in hard-to-reach areas desperately in need of assistance.
The United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, has carried out its 55th airborne aid drop in Gaza as part of the “طيور الخير” initiative. This operation unfolded yesterday, marking the second consecutive day of humanitarian efforts aimed at reaching isolated areas within the Gaza Strip.
This initiative is closely tied to “الفارس الشهم 3,” highlighting the UAE’s persistent commitment to alleviate humanitarian suffering among the Palestinian people, especially in regions inaccessible by land due to prevailing security conditions.
Since the inception of “طيور الخير,” approximately 3,750 tons of essential food and relief supplies have been dropped, addressing the urgent needs of families affected by the dire humanitarian crisis in the region. This ongoing support underscores the UAE’s relentless humanitarian endeavors.
Additionally, a convoy of aid entered Gaza through the Egyptian Rafah crossing yesterday as part of the UAE’s efforts to support Palestinian communities amid current challenges under the “الفارس الشهم 3” humanitarian initiative.
This latest convoy consisted of 38 trucks, including 18 loaded with food, medical supplies, and infant formula, alongside 20 trucks carrying pipes and tanks crucial for establishing a new water supply line. This line will extend from the UAE’s desalination plant in Egypt to the displacement area between Rafah and Khan Younis, spanning seven kilometers and producing two million gallons of water daily.
Another convoy with 25 trucks entered Gaza yesterday, transporting water pipes and essential equipment to complete the water line project. This brings the total number of trucks dedicated to this vital initiative to 45, paving the way for the project’s swift implementation.
The UAE has reiterated its commitment to collaborating with regional and international partners to ensure that aid reaches those in need through various air, land, and sea channels. This aligns with the nation’s humanitarian ethos and its prominent role in relief and humanitarian work.
Notably, the UAE resumed “طيور الخير” operations for air drops and has been facilitating the movement of humanitarian convoys via the Rafah crossing. This reaffirms its sustained dedication to supporting the Palestinian people and easing the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
