The United Arab Emirates plans to launch a new foreign trade platform powered by artificial intelligence, a move aimed at enhancing its non-oil trade with various countries around the world. This platform will contribute to expediting commercial procedures and making them more efficient, reflecting the country’s commitment to being a global trade hub.
In an official ceremony, Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al Gergawi witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Trade and “Presight,” a company specializing in artificial intelligence solutions that belongs to the UAE’s G42 Group. This platform will rely entirely on AI tools to facilitate foreign trade procedures, making them faster, smarter, and more flexible. Moreover, the platform will be part of efforts to solidify the UAE’s position as a global center for international trade.
Strategic Dimensions of the New Platform
The AI-powered foreign trade platform is part of the strategic program “UAE: A Global Trade Hub,” launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum last November. This program aims to enhance the UAE’s position as a global gateway for the flow of goods and services and to open new markets for the country’s exports. It also seeks to achieve national objectives related to foreign trade by leveraging the latest artificial intelligence technologies.
Data Analysis to Enhance Economic Growth
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, noted that the platform will be a vital source of data and forecasts based on reliable analytical information. He added, “The UAE recognizes the potential of artificial intelligence in enhancing economic growth, especially in the field of trade.” He emphasized that this initiative will contribute to accelerating the movement of goods and reducing disruptions, as well as identifying high-potential opportunities.
Strategic Partnership with “Presight”
Mohammed Al Mansouri, Vice Chairman of “Presight,” confirmed that the new platform will be key to enhancing the UAE’s role in global supply chains. He explained, “The future of trade will belong to economies that can foresee the future and act quickly.” In this way, artificial intelligence can be transformed into a competitive advantage that strengthens the UAE’s position in the global market.
Innovation in International Trade Transactions
Thomas Brammotidham, CEO of Presight, noted that the partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Trade reflects the UAE’s leading position in the field of artificial intelligence. He stated, “This partnership represents an important milestone in the global trade ecosystem, allowing for smoother and more rational management of trade transactions.” By integrating the platform with all ministry functions, the UAE aims to be the first trade ministry in the world led by artificial intelligence.
This platform is expected to transform how data and commercial operations are handled, helping companies and exporters understand the requirements for accessing global markets. This includes providing AI-driven services, such as smart certificates of origin, which will enhance the country’s ability to advance its national economy.
Through the “UAE: A Global Trade Hub” program, the country is moving towards achieving a range of ambitious initiatives that support the success of foreign trade and boost non-oil exports, attracting more global companies and manufacturers.
