A new initiative has been launched in alignment with the forward-thinking vision of the UAE’s leadership, aimed at enhancing the role of the industrial sector and achieving the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology. This initiative seeks to accelerate the use of advanced technologies and solutions linked to the Fourth Industrial Revolution within the industrial sector, thereby bolstering production flexibility, operational efficiency, and the competitiveness of companies in the UAE. Additionally, it aims to support the growth of national industries with high added value.
Integrated Solutions for Technological Transformation
The initiative offers integrated solutions to manufacturers, assisting them on their technological transformation journey. This involves assessing their technological needs, identifying development opportunities, and employing Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. Manufacturers will also be connected with specialised technical experts, solutions providers, empowerment programmes, and financing options.
Moreover, the initiative highlights successful industrial experiences and real-world examples of technology applications. This allows manufacturers to benefit from best practices and adopt the most suitable solutions to enhance their operational efficiency.
This programme unifies various enabling programmes that have already supported more than 700 factories, which includes the assessment of over 620 factories via the Industrial Technological Transformation Index. This reflects the significant progress made in expediting technological transformation and supporting the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, as well as the “Make in the UAE” initiative.
Supporting Manufacturers Across All Stages of Industrial Transformation
The initiative aids manufacturers at various stages of industrial transformation through experience exchange and the establishment of strategic partnerships. This support contributes to enhancing their competitiveness and capacity for growth and expansion in both local and global markets, while also boosting the resilience of supply chains and the overall development of the industrial sector.
The UAE as a Global Centre
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, stated, “Thanks to the visionary guidance of our leadership, the UAE has successfully built a competitive industrial system that focusses on investing in people, technology, and innovation. This enhances our standing as a global industrial centre and an attractive destination for industrial investments. The ministry continues to work with its partners to build on the achievements so far, focusing on accelerating the adoption of advanced technology solutions within the industrial sector, including artificial intelligence applications that play a key role in increasing productivity, improving efficiency, and enhancing the competitiveness of our national factories.”
He added, “The ‘Future Factories of the UAE’ initiative complements the ministry’s efforts to accelerate technological transformation and expand the benefits available to manufacturers through available programmes and enablers, encouraging them to deploy advanced technology applications.”
Al Jaber extended his gratitude to all partners in the industrial sector and related fields for their contributions to advancing technological transformation and expanding the use of advanced technology through knowledge exchange and providing technical and financial solutions that support the growth of national industries.
Partners of the Initiative
The initiative is supported by a network of partners from both the public and private sectors, each playing a crucial role in facilitating the transformation journey. Technology transformation partners assist manufacturers in assessing their “technological maturity” level, identifying transformation opportunities, and developing appropriate pathways for adopting new technologies. On the other hand, enabling partners provide specialised expertise, capacity-building programmes, and knowledge sharing. Finally, funding partners support manufacturers by facilitating access to necessary financing and investment solutions to implement and grow their transformation projects.
