Emirates Food Bank Celebrates Its Strategic Partners, Contributors, and Volunteers at Annual Gala
In a special event under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Food Bank Foundation, the annual gala for 2025 was held at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. The event brought together several strategic partners, contributors, and volunteers who played a key role in enhancing the impact of the charitable and humanitarian initiatives supported by the bank. This gala serves as a celebration of the ongoing efforts made by these organizations and individuals to support those in need and promote humanitarian work in the UAE.
Honoring Partners and Supporters
The gala was attended by a distinguished group, including the Vice Chairperson of the Emirates Food Bank, Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, members of the Board of Trustees, and representatives from governmental and private entities. A total of 67 organizations that contributed effectively to the implementation of the bank’s programs and initiatives were honored, including 37 entities awarded the charitable endowment mark, reflecting their commitment to enhancing charitable work.
Volunteers and contributors from various sectors were also recognized for their pivotal role in the bank’s success. This emphasis on the partnership between the bank and the community reflects the bank’s vision to support collective efforts and foster a culture of giving in the UAE.
Notable Achievements for 2025
During his speech, Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita affirmed that the achievements witnessed by the bank this year are a true reflection of the humanitarian values promoted by the UAE. Thanks to fruitful collaboration among partners, the bank has expanded its operations and achieved tangible results. He explained that reducing food waste and ensuring food security are fundamental goals of the bank, emphasizing its commitment to continue launching initiatives that promote these objectives.
Additionally, Manal bin Ya’roof, the Executive Team Leader of the Emirates Food Bank, highlighted that support from partners and volunteers is at the heart of the bank’s success. She stressed the importance of improving the efficiency of food surplus preservation and distribution operations, noting that 23 million meals have been provided to beneficiaries, reflecting ongoing efforts in this area.
Commitment to Sustainability and Community Awareness
As part of its efforts to address food waste challenges, the bank has managed to divert over 6,275 tons of surplus food from landfills, equating to more than 15 million meals. This achievement demonstrates the bank’s commitment to contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and promoting environmental sustainability.
Throughout the year, awareness programs were implemented, engaging over two million individuals, in addition to signing 28 cooperation agreements with local, regional, and international entities, which contributed to expanding the bank’s network and increasing its effectiveness in assisting needy communities.
At the conclusion of the gala, the list of strategic partners and volunteer teams was announced, highlighting the importance of continuous teamwork to enhance the humanitarian impact of the Emirates Food Bank in the coming years. This event solidifies the bank’s determination to serve the community and promote a culture of giving and altruism in the UAE.
