UAE Expedites Medical Evacuation for 119 Patients from Gaza

The United Arab Emirates has successfully conducted an urgent medical evacuation of 119 patients and injured individuals from Gaza, accompanied by their family members. This significant effort, utilizing Ramon Airport in Israel and the Karem Abu Salam crossing, is part of a larger humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting the affected population in Gaza. With this latest operation, the total number of patients and companions evacuated by the UAE has reached 2,904 since the onset of this humanitarian crisis. The UAE’s commitment to providing critical medical care to those in need underscores its dedication to alleviating suffering in conflict zones.

Emergency Medical Evacuation

The recent evacuation reflects the UAE’s ongoing mission to provide necessary medical care in response to the acute needs of the population in Gaza. Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, the country aims to treat 1,000 injured Palestinian children and an equal number of cancer patients. This initiative highlights the UAE’s relentless efforts to deliver essential healthcare amidst challenging conditions.

Collaborative Humanitarian Efforts

In a statement, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations and Vice President of the UAE’s Agency for International Aid, emphasized the nation’s commitment to humanitarian responses. He pointed out that this latest operation is part of a broader strategy to support the Palestinian people in various emergencies. Cooperation with international organizations, particularly the World Health Organization, is crucial for ensuring that critical cases receive immediate treatment in UAE hospitals.

Comprehensive Healthcare Services

The UAE ensures that the evacuated patients, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and women, receive not only medical attention but also a complete range of healthcare services. This includes access to health, educational, and cultural services in the Emirates Humanitarian City, facilitating a swift response to the catastrophic situation faced by these individuals. Furthermore, the UAE provides medical supplies and essential medications at floating hospitals off the coast of Al Arish, Egypt, and in field hospitals stationed in southern Gaza.

Continuing Humanitarian Commitment

The UAE remains steadfast in its humanitarian mission. Through ongoing collaborations with UN organizations and international partners, the nation aims to mitigate the dire consequences of the current crisis and alleviate the humanitarian suffering experienced by civilians in Gaza.
