Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” the General Women’s Union, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Ports Group, has launched the international track of the training programme “أطلق” as part of its participation in the dialogue session “Equality Dialogue: Artificial Intelligence, Trade and Inclusive Digital Entrepreneurship” on the sidelines of the 2026 “AI for Good” Global Summit in Geneva. The initiative marks an important step in expanding the reach of the programme and strengthening women’s access to new opportunities in global trade and logistics.
The launch comes as part of a broader effort to enhance women’s role in digital commerce and logistics while developing the specialist and leadership skills needed to keep pace with rapid changes in the digital economy and international supply chains. By opening the door to wider participation, “أطلق” aims to position women more strongly in sectors that are shaping the future of global business.
Empowering Women for the Digital Economy
Secretary-General of the General Women’s Union Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi stated that the international track of “أطلق” reflects the union’s commitment to taking the UAE’s leading experience in women’s empowerment to a global level, supported by the unwavering backing of the nation’s leadership and the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” in preparing women to play an active role in vital and future-facing sectors.
She expressed gratitude to Abu Dhabi Ports Group for its significant contribution to developing the programme and for leveraging its national expertise in digital trade and logistics to support women’s empowerment and strengthen specialized capabilities at both local and international levels.
She noted that empowering women in digital trade and logistics is a key pillar in increasing their presence in the global economy. From this perspective, the international track of “أطلق” serves as a professional and knowledge-based bridge that equips female talent with the specialized skills and leadership abilities needed to navigate international trade systems and manage their requirements efficiently, helping create more innovative and sustainable work environments.
She added that the partnership reflects the integration of national efforts in support of women’s empowerment and demonstrates the capability of Emirati institutions to deliver training and development models that can expand and be applied internationally.

Engineer Ghalia Ali Al Mannaei, Head of Strategic and Development Affairs at the General Women’s Union, stated that the international track of “أطلق” embodies a commitment to translating the “Mother of the Nation 50:50” vision into advanced professional pathways aimed at preparing specialized female talent capable of excelling and competing at the forefront of key sectors, particularly digital trade and logistics.
She explained that the track has been designed as an advanced professional platform for specialists from any country who wish to join, with the aim of providing them with the latest applied knowledge and future-ready skills. Through this initiative, the union seeks to strengthen the global digital economy with women professionals capable of developing smart solutions and utilizing modern technologies to manage supply chains with greater flexibility and efficiency, in line with the highest international standards. The programme was redesigned by experts at Abu Dhabi Ports Group to match the requirements of international professional environments, combining artificial intelligence, data analytics, digital solutions, and practical applications in shipping and global trade.
The programme’s methodology is built on an integrated training structure that includes self-learning, intensive hands-on training, advanced workshops, and professional mentoring sessions. It also covers four core pillars: the fundamentals of digital trade and shipping data analysis, building smart logistics solutions and managing global supply chains, cybersecurity in international trade, and agile working methodologies.
With its international track now launched, “أطلق” enters a new phase aimed at widening access to specialized knowledge and creating fresh opportunities for women to grow into the commercial and logistics leaders of tomorrow.
