Tour of the Park Facilities

During his visit, His Highness Sheikh Hazzaa bin Zayed toured various sections of the park, with one of the highlights being the community market known as “Saqi Market.” The market aims to support local economic activities and promote family-run projects, thereby invigorating commercial activity within public spaces.

He also learned about the new project “Road Furniture Identity,” which aims to ensure a unified visual identity for service elements found on roads and in public spaces. This project includes benches, seats, and waiting shelters designed to align with the urban character of the Al Ain area, while adhering to safety and quality requirements and sustainability in the materials used.

The Importance of Developing Parks and Public Facilities

His Highness Sheikh Hazzaa bin Zayed emphasized that the development of parks and public facilities is an essential part of urban planning, highlighting the importance of providing green spaces that enhance quality of life and support healthy lifestyles. These initiatives are vital regardless of community demographics, as they contribute to creating a balanced urban environment suitable for all age groups.

Diverse Recreational Facilities

Al Sarouj Park features a variety of facilities, including designated camping spots for over 36 vehicles, 60 barbecue sites, a children’s play area, and a theater dedicated to events and artistic performances. The park also includes a network of shaded pathways extending over 9,500 square meters, enhancing the visitor experience and providing a unique recreational atmosphere.

It is worth noting that His Highness Sheikh Hazzaa bin Zayed reviewed the artificial Al Sarouj Lake, which spans approximately 7,000 square meters and is surrounded by seating areas and illuminated pathways. This lake offers visitors a distinctive experience in a natural setting, helping to preserve the surrounding environment and promote the importance of ecological activities.

Accompanying him during the visit were His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Excellency Rashid Musbah Al Menai, Director General of the Al Ain City Municipality, along with several officials from the Department of Municipalities and Transport and Al Ain City Municipality.
