Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree establishing and organizing the Sharjah Creative Quarter (SCQ). The decree underscores the government’s vision of cultivating an environment rich in artistic innovation while providing a structured framework to support this initiative.
The Sharjah Creative Quarter will serve as a dedicated center for creativity and innovation, endowed with the legal authority and administrative independence necessary to achieve its objectives. This strategic move positions the SCQ as a cornerstone for the creative industries in the region.
Mission and Objectives of the SCQ
Fully owned by the Sharjah government, the SCQ aims to nurture creative talents across various sectors, including fashion, jewellery, product design, and handicrafts. Located in University City, Sharjah, the SCQ has the potential to extend its reach to other areas within the emirate, following the directives of the Ruler.
In its pursuit of innovation, the SCQ will collaborate with designated governmental and private sectors, maximizing the impact of its initiatives. Key objectives include:
