The recent workshop organized by the Sharjah Sports Council significantly advanced the process of standardizing player contracts within the emirate’s clubs, addressing important aspects of these agreements. Legal expert Dr. Omar Hassan bin Haneef led discussions aimed at streamlining the contract formation process, ensuring fairness and transparency in all agreements.
The workshop discussed current contracts and established a unified mechanism for drafting sports contracts, ensuring transparency and protecting the rights of both parties, while moving away from individual interpretations and standardizing the legal framework adopted by all clubs. This initiative stems from the importance of unifying player contracts in the emirate’s clubs, facilitating the resolution of any disputes that may arise and supporting future developments in the world of sports.
Fifteen participants attended the workshop, including executives, professional directors, secretaries, and staff involved in contracts, who contributed rich ideas and perspectives on player contracts. At the end of the workshop, the agreed-upon points were documented for the chair of the legal committee to present to Mr. Issa Hilal Al Hazami, chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, for approval.
