The Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, under the honorary presidency of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, aims to extend its reach beyond the emirate, showcasing a vision that positions the city as a leader in providing comprehensive services for individuals with disabilities worldwide.

Welcoming staff at the academic event “Hello 2026-2027,” Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafai, General Director of the city, outlined this vision during a meeting held at Al Qasimia University. She remarked, “Joining the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services is not merely the beginning of a professional journey, but an allegiance to a humanitarian message that carries profound meaning and impact.” This sentiment underscores the goal of fostering every employee as a vital partner in a holistic system—rather than just a job holder.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration, she stated, “We believe that sustainable humanitarian work cannot be achieved through individual efforts alone, but through an integrated system that combines humanity, knowledge, quality, partnership, and innovation.” The addition of new employees signals the influx of fresh energy into a robust humanitarian mission.

The city proudly boasts a diverse workforce of 795 employees, including 65 individuals with disabilities, representing 8.18% of the staff and 28 different nationalities. This variety exemplifies an inclusive work environment characterised by multicultural experiences.

Beyond recruitment, the city emphasises staff development, offering 106 training programmes that benefited 3,225 trainees, resulting in 549 training hours facilitated by 70 trainers. Notably, the overall satisfaction rate for these training initiatives reached an impressive 95%, with 83% of participants reporting positive impacts on their work environment. Additionally, approximately 650 accredited training certificates were issued to support employees’ professional licensing requirements, alongside 131 university students from 12 different institutions benefiting from internship opportunities.

Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services provides an extensive range of educational, rehabilitation, therapeutic, and social services, benefitting 3,341 students. The services are comprehensive, including educational classes, family counselling, external morning sessions, therapeutic services, and scholarships awarded to 14 students at Sharjah University.

The city’s impact extends beyond education into employment, with 544 graduates securing jobs and 627 graduates receiving training in partnership with governmental and private institutions from 1989 to 2026. Specifically, from 2023 to 2026, 104 graduates have been employed and 176 trained, facilitated through a network of 148 partnering institutions focused on training and employment.
