The Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority has achieved a significant milestone in its digital transformation efforts by reducing the time required to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to just two hours, down from three working days. This initiative is part of the authority’s ongoing commitment to enhancing services and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Advancing Business and Development Initiatives
According to Engineer Abdul Rahim Al Zarouni, Director of Shared Services at the Authority, this achievement aligns with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. It underscores the necessity to streamline procedures and support the business sector and developmental projects within the emirate. To facilitate this, the authority has adopted advanced technologies and a sophisticated electronic system that allows for immediate processing of applications and automated data verification, significantly accelerating the workflow for vital projects.
Creating an Attractive Investment Environment
Engineer Al Zarouni emphasised that this upgrade not only enhances the speed of service but also aims to create an attractive investment environment in Sharjah. The No Objection Certificate is a fundamental pillar for the infrastructure sector, playing a crucial role in the approval processes for new projects.
Enhanced Accessibility and Transparency
The authority has made it easier for customers to submit requests through its website and smart application available around the clock. Additionally, a real-time tracking feature for application status has been implemented to ensure complete transparency in its dealings with the public.
