In a significant move aimed at enhancing community well-being, the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) has launched the initiative “لنصلهم” in the city of Khorfakkan. This initiative focuses on providing exceptional services to elderly individuals with specific medical needs, ensuring they receive necessary support without the hassle of visiting service centers.
A Commitment to Community Welfare
According to Eng. Saud Abdul Aziz, Director of the Khorfakkan Administration at SEWA, the “لنصلهم” initiative embodies the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The program aims to facilitate a dignified and comfortable living experience for all residents in the emirate. This approach demonstrates SEWA’s commitment to proactive service, wherein the focus shifts from waiting for customers to actively reaching out to them, especially those in vulnerable groups, such as elderly citizens with medical needs.
Enhancing Quality of Life
Eng. Abdul Aziz emphasized that SEWA’s goal extends beyond merely providing services; it seeks to improve the quality of life for those who require special attention. The initiative addresses pressing health and safety concerns by prioritizing recorded medical cases during repair work and maintenance, and by supplying temporary generators or backup power units for critical cases during unexpected outages.
Streamlined Coordination for Efficient Service Delivery
Eng. Abdullah Al Naqbi, Acting Head of the Emergency Department at the Khorfakkan Administration, noted that SEWA has collaborated closely with the Khorfakkan Social Services Department to identify vulnerable cases. A precise database and a comprehensive logistical support network have been established, featuring distinctive markings on electrical panels to ensure swift access for beneficiaries. This strategic coordination facilitates timely electrical services for those in need.
Ensuring Continuity of Care
The “لنصلهم” initiative offers exceptional support, ensuring a continuous electricity supply for patients relying on home medical devices, both during planned outages and unforeseen emergencies. Al Naqbi highlighted that every technical and field resource, including skilled teams and generators, has been mobilized to guarantee the success of the initiative in Khorfakkan. The aim is to alleviate any anxieties faced by patients and their families regarding the reliability of electricity in their homes.
By investing in targeted efforts through the “لنصلهم” initiative, SEWA demonstrates its unwavering commitment to those who contribute significantly to society, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve.
