Sharjah Charity Association has launched the second season of its “Makers of Goodness” programme, an initiative designed for children and young people aged between 8 and 12. The scheme aims to develop their media skills while embedding the values of giving and humanitarian work, preparing a generation capable of expressing humanitarian messages through creative and contemporary media methods.
Building media skills with humanitarian values
Mohammed Ibrahim Bin Nassar, Director of the Corporate Communication and Marketing Department at Sharjah Charity Association, said the launch of the new season follows the success achieved by the programme in its first edition, which encouraged the association to develop it further and introduce a fresh round of content that combines media training with humanitarian awareness.
The programme includes a series of practical workshops in which participants are trained in the basics of writing humanitarian content, photography, video report production, camera presentation and radio voice recording. It also features workshops on the culture of charitable work, the art of storytelling and the creation of human-centred narratives.
Developing confidence and social responsibility
Bin Nassar said the programme is designed to build children’s personalities, strengthen their self-confidence and instil the values of social responsibility and volunteering, enabling them to use the skills they gain to spread a culture of goodness and generosity within their families and communities.
He added that the second season includes a more developed training content, with greater emphasis on the practical side and on giving participants the opportunity to produce media work that reflects what they have learnt during the programme. This, he said, offers them a realistic experience that strengthens their skills and opens new horizons for creativity.
He noted that investing in children and young people is an investment in the future of society, and that instilling humanitarian values at this age and linking them to purposeful media helps prepare a generation that is aware of its community issues, equipped with tools for positive influence, and convinced that words and images can be used to spread goodness and promote solidarity.
An invitation to parents
Bin Nassar called on parents to encourage their children to join the programme and benefit from its training content, stressing that “Makers of Goodness” is a comprehensive platform that brings together learning and creativity, while giving children the chance to discover their media talents and strengthen their connection to charitable and humanitarian values.
