In a commendable effort to support those in need, the Sharjah Charity Association has announced its substantial aid of 6.7 million dirhams within the first half of this year. This financial assistance aims to uplift 4,538 individuals from low-income backgrounds, as well as elderly citizens, divorced women, and widows who do not currently receive government aid. The initiative reflects the charity’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for some of the most vulnerable members of the community.
According to Mohamed Ibrahim Bin Nasr, the Director of Institutional Communication and Marketing at the association, the charity relies heavily on zakat contributions from generous donors to implement programs that enable beneficiaries to achieve a dignified lifestyle. He emphasized that the funds are allocated strategically to ensure they reach those who need them the most.
Throughout this ongoing initiative, cash assistance has been distributed monthly to eligible cases registered at the main headquarters and various branches in Al Madam, Al Dhaid, Khor Fakkan, and Dibba Al Hisn. Notably, June saw the highest monthly disbursement, totaling 1.197 million dirhams, followed closely by January with 1.170 million dirhams, illustrating the charity’s focus on prioritizing needs over time.
The impact of the Sharjah Charity Association’s efforts cannot be overstated. By providing 6.7 million dirhams in support for low-income individuals over these six months, the association is not only addressing immediate financial challenges but also fostering a sense of hope and stability within the community. This proactive approach showcases a model of community solidarity that could inspire similar initiatives across the region.
Moreover, the charity has reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency regarding the distribution of funds, ensuring that donors can see the tangible effects of their contributions. As the association continues its essential work, it remains a vital source of support for the many families and individuals relying on assistance in Sharjah.
