Richard Mille has officially launched the limited edition RM 65-01 McLaren W1 Chronograph, showcasing a stunning blend of cutting-edge technology and high-performance design. This latest timepiece, a result of the collaboration between the esteemed Swiss watchmaker and the illustrious automotive brand McLaren, stands out as the fourth iteration in their partnership. Designed with precision and innovation, the RM 65-01 McLaren W1 Chronograph promises to captivate both watch enthusiasts and motorsport fans alike.
Limited to just 500 pieces, the RM 65-01 McLaren W1 Chronograph draws its inspiration from McLaren’s groundbreaking W1 supercar, making it the most intricate automatic chronograph in the Richard Mille collection to date.
The watch boasts a Carbon TPT case with dimensions of 43.84 x 49.94 x 16.19 mm. Its design reflects the innovative “aero-cell” architecture of the W1 supercar, featuring a distinctive ‘double’ bezel that presented significant technical hurdles during its development.
The McLaren W1 Supercar Inspires a Revolutionary Timepiece
At the heart of the RM 65-01 McLaren W1 Chronograph lies the RMAC4 movement, which operates at a frequency of 5Hz and is capable of precisely recording times up to one-tenth of a second. This movement includes an advanced ‘rapid winding’ system alongside a variable geometry rotor, enhancing its functionality and performance.

The design of the RM 65-01 McLaren W1 Chronograph also incorporates several elements inspired by the W1 supercar. The crown draws from the car’s drive shafts, while the pushers evoke McLaren’s lightweight seat designs. The strap features patterns that echo the aerodynamic aspects of the W1, further emphasizing this watch’s high-performance pedigree.
This release is significant within the ongoing Richard Mille-McLaren collaboration, which began in 2016 and includes previous models like the RM 50-03, RM 11-03, and RM 40-01. The RM 65-01 McLaren W1 Chronograph is designed to encapsulate the W1 supercar’s exceptional capabilities, resonating strongly with fans of both luxury watchmaking and high-speed engineering.
