Rakez Deepens Indian Business Ties with Landmark Plastic Pact

Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (راكز) has concluded a series of high-level meetings with the business community in Mumbai as part of a two-week promotional roadshow that also covered Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Pune, aiming to strengthen trade and investment ties between the UAE and India and create new opportunities for Indian companies looking to use the country as a platform for regional and global expansion.

Engaging Indian businesses across key sectors

In Mumbai, the delegation held a series of bilateral meetings with leading Indian companies operating across a wide range of industries, including automotive manufacturing, banking and financial services, information technology, business process outsourcing, petrochemicals trading, chemical and fertiliser manufacturing, alternative energy solutions, engineering and manufacturing, infrastructure development, logistics and strategic mineral processing.

Agreement with India’s plastics processing sector

During the roadshow, RAKZ signed a memorandum of understanding with the Plastics Processors of India, which represents the country’s plastics manufacturing and processing sector. The agreement was signed by Ramy Jallad, Group CEO of RAKZ, and Deepak Lawale, Secretary General of the organisation.

The memorandum is intended to enhance trade and investment opportunities between the two sides and open new avenues for cooperation and development. It will also support Indian business owners through the organisation of trade missions, participation in exhibitions and events, and other initiatives designed to encourage exports and investment.

RAKZ: India remains a priority market

Ramy Jallad, Group CEO of RAKZ, said: “India is one of the most important investment markets for RAKZ, and our recent visit reflects the depth of this relationship. The meetings we held with business leaders from various sectors confirmed the growing interest among Indian companies in using Ras Al Khaimah as a base for regional and global expansion. Through these meetings and strategic partnerships, the memorandum of understanding with the Plastics Processors of India has helped create further opportunities for Indian companies to benefit from the dynamic business environment in the UAE and the cost-effective RAKZ ecosystem, enabling them to expand with confidence.”

The memorandum of understanding with the Plastics Processors of India supports RAKZ’s efforts to broaden cooperation with specialised industrial bodies in India and to promote Ras Al Khaimah as a competitive destination for manufacturers, process manufacturers and exporters. The organisation works closely with companies in the plastics sector and related entities to encourage the adoption of modern technologies, raise quality standards, apply best manufacturing practices, support sustainability and the circular economy, and contribute to skills development and industrial policy development.

Growing Indian business community in RAKZ

The Indian business community in RAKZ continues to expand alongside the development of economic relations between the UAE and India under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. RAKZ currently hosts more than 13,500 Indian companies, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to global brands such as Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, Samvardhana Motherson International Limited, JK Cement, Eis Creams, JK Wire Industries, Bosco Aluminium and Glass, Shyam Middle East, Nash Industries, Expro India of the Birla Group and Dابر Naturyl.

RAKZ said its ongoing field engagement, along with sector-focused promotional programmes, has helped reinforce Ras Al Khaimah’s position as a preferred destination for Indian companies seeking sustainable growth, access to regional markets and long-term expansion from the UAE.

Direct outreach to support expansion

Through its multi-city promotional tour, RAKZ is engaging directly with Indian companies and industrial partners and providing practical insights into setting up and expanding businesses in Ras Al Khaimah. The initiative reflects its continued commitment to supporting Indian businesses across key commercial and industrial sectors.
