Pure Ice Cream Unveils $22 Million Solar Factory in Dubai

In a groundbreaking development for the UAE’s food manufacturing sector, Pure Ice Cream has officially kicked off construction on a cutting-edge solar-powered factory in Dubai. With an investment of AED 80 million (approximately $22 million), this state-of-the-art facility is poised to be one of the largest ice cream production plants in the region, significantly enhancing Pure Ice Cream’s capabilities and facilitating expanded distribution. Slated to commence operations in 2026, the factory is set to revolutionize the local ice cream market while promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.

A New Era for Ice Cream Production

Pure Ice Cream’s latest venture will increase its annual production capacity to an impressive 50 million liters, positioning the company as a leader in the UAE’s ice cream industry. This substantial output aligns with the company’s strategic move to enter a production agreement with Inspire Brands for the well-loved Baskin-Robbins ice creams, further cementing its role in the market.

Commitment to Sustainability

Gaurav Ghai, Chairman of Graviss Group, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are looking forward to building the largest ice cream plant in the GCC and exporting products to over 20 countries from Dubai.” The factory will notably utilize solar power, contributing to Pure Ice Cream’s goals of achieving carbon neutrality. The facility will also implement biodegradable packaging for its three-gallon product line, reflecting a broader commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

Industry Impact and Community Growth

Michael Haley, President and Managing Director of International for Inspire Brands, emphasized the significance of this project, stating, “The groundbreaking of the new Pure Ice Cream manufacturing facility in Dubai Industrial City demonstrates our continued commitment to growth in the Middle East.” The facility is expected to boost the local economy by creating approximately 60 additional jobs upon completion, contributing to Dubai’s vibrant business ecosystem.

Strategic Location and Future Plans

Dubai Industrial City is equipped to support this ambitious project, housing over 1,100 clients and more than 350 operational factories. Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group PJSC, highlighted how the ecosystem at Dubai Industrial City aims to strengthen the supply chain for “Made in UAE” products. Pure Ice Cream’s factory not only underscores Dubai’s reputation as a significant food production hub but also supports various national initiatives, including Operation 300bn and the National Food Security Strategy 2051.

The construction of the solar-powered factory is underway, with Winner Holistic Consultant providing expertise for the 160,000 square foot facility. Designed with advanced automation systems, including AI and x-ray detection technology, the plant aims to optimize efficiency and maintain high-quality standards throughout the production process. As Pure Ice Cream targets new markets in Africa, the Levant, and Southeast Asia, this factory will be instrumental in expanding its global footprint.

Pure Ice Cream’s upcoming factory stands as a testament to the company’s dedication to innovation and sustainability within the ice cream industry. With plans for strong growth and international outreach, the facility is set to make a significant impact in both the local and global markets.
