The inaugural “Public Health Ambassadors” programme at the Sheikh Zayed Summer Festival 2026 has achieved remarkable success in equipping children with vital skills related to sports, healthy eating, proper sleep, and managing everyday pressures. This innovative initiative has fostered an environment where children can learn to help themselves and those around them.
Empowering Young Minds Through Practical Training
The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre emphasised that the programme, which has been implemented for the first time at the festival, provided crucial training in essential first aid. Moreover, a follow-up will ensure that the lessons learned extend to peers once the children return to school.
A Commitment to Child Welfare
Dr. Amani Al-Hajri, Executive Director of the Community Health Sector at the centre and Vice Chair of the Fatima bint Mubarak Academy for Women’s Sports, expressed that this first edition of the festival offers significant enrichment to activities focused on child welfare and empowerment. She noted that it aligns with the visionary leadership’s belief in investing in people at all stages of life as the real asset to the nation.
Collaboration and Community Engagement
Dr. Al-Hajri highlighted that all participating entities contributed their most valuable knowledge and practical practices to promote awareness and enhance community culture. This effort transcends mere summer entertainment, aiming instead to instill lasting values and awareness amongst children and their families.
Looking Ahead
As the festival concludes, there are aspirations to extend its reach across all emirates in the coming years. The successful outcomes of this programme demonstrate the potential for even greater community impact through continuous commitment to child health and wellbeing.
