Mohammed bin Rashid Witnesses Partnership for Organizing the Global Government Summit Dialogue in Latin America and the Caribbean
In a significant step towards enhancing international cooperation, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, along with His Excellency Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic, witnessed the announcement by the Global Government Summit Foundation regarding the organization of the Global Government Summit Dialogue in Latin America and the Caribbean. This initiative is part of the planned activities for the Global Government Summit in 2026, reinforcing the direction towards enhancing scientific and cultural partnerships between the Arab region and Latin America.
Memorandum of Understanding between the UAE and the Dominican Republic
Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Global Government Summit, and His Excellency Victor Bisonó Haza, Minister of Housing and Buildings and Head of the Public Policy Analysis Center in the Dominican Republic, signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at organizing the regional dialogue. This agreement stipulates the establishment of a specialized platform in the Dominican Republic, with the dialogue set to take place by the end of 2026, thereby enhancing the value of knowledge exchanges and affirming the country’s role as a strategic communication platform between the Middle East and Latin America.
The Importance of Regional Dialogue
The new summit in the Dominican Republic will feature an expanded agenda aimed at deepening the ties between Latin America and the Middle East. The focus will be on attracting investments from the UAE and fostering dialogue among senior government officials, leaders, the private sector, and international decision-makers. The dialogue also aims to exchange best practices in policies and discuss challenges and opportunities in the fields of development, governance, and the global economy.

The recent understanding reaffirms both parties’ commitment to implementing the vision launched in 2025 when the Dominican Republic hosted the first regional dialogue of the Global Government Summit outside the UAE, solidifying its position as a leader in this field in Latin America.
A previous memorandum of understanding was signed in 2025 between the Global Government Summit Foundation and the Public Policy Analysis Center (CAPP) to open avenues for institutional cooperation focused on developing dialogue initiatives and public policy analysis. This collaboration aims to enhance the regional dialogue of the summit and secure the Dominican Republic’s position as a new platform for global dialogue.
