This accomplishment is part of Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding’s efforts to provide modern naval defenses and strengthen economic ties with its neighbors.

A Historic Achievement and Anniversary Celebration

In a statement issued to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, the company confirmed that this vessel is part of a massive contract to supply the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense with advanced missile boats. This contract is considered the largest maritime export operation the region has seen to date, showcasing Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding’s superiority in delivering high-efficiency technologies and equipment.

Khalid Al Zaabi’s Vision for the Future

Khalid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the company, believes that Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding embodies a national industrial success story by all standards. He explained that since the company’s establishment, which occurred twenty-five years after the founding of the state, it has managed to solidify its presence on the global stage and significantly increase its revenues. Recent years have witnessed exceptional successes, as the company has made its mark in the global market by launching ships designed and built entirely in the UAE.

Growth and Development Since 1995

Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding was founded in 1995 as a provider of maintenance and repair services for the UAE naval forces. Over time, it expanded its operations to include shipbuilding starting in 2001, offering a maritime program with the highest levels of reliability. Its first ship was the “Baynunah Corvette,” and through signing an export contract with the Royal Oman Navy, it established itself as a leading manufacturer in the region. Today, the company operates one of the most advanced shipyards, covering an area of 330,000 square meters and employing around 1,500 staff.

Expansion and Future Strategies

David Masi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding, stated that his joining the company six years ago marked a promising beginning. The pace of development the company has experienced has surprised everyone, as it achieved the largest order backlog in its history. The company continues to expand its operations across multiple continents while also working to develop its military platforms in collaboration with a specialized technology office. These trends reflect a new phase that Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding aims to achieve, positioning itself at the forefront of innovation and industrial development.
